This pigment is a new type of long after-glow photo luminescent material.
Free from any radioactive substance and with strong capability of absorbing-storing-emitting
light, the pigment can glow in the dark automatically after absorbing
varieties of visible lights. Some of the colours are shown below.
II.
Product characteristics
1. Photoluminescent pigment is a light-yellow powder, turns to green color
after being excited by light.
2. The smaller the particle size, the lower the luminance is.
3. Compared with other pigments, photoluminescent pigment can be easily
and widely used in many fields.
4. High initial luminance, long afterglow time (Test according to DIN67510
Standard, its afterglow time can be 10,000 minutes)
5. Its light-resistance, aging-resistance and chemical stability are all
good (more than 10 years of life span)
6. It is a new type of environmentally friendly photoluminescent pigment
with the characteristics of non-toxicity, non-radioactivity, non-flammability
and non-explosibility.
Technical Details TheThe Glow Powder (or photoluminescent pigment as it is also called) Basics gives you some guidelines as to the usage of the Glow Powder products. These are just guidelines and the user should use their best judgment in working with the pigments. Basic Guidelines for Using SUNLITE Glow Powder.
- More powder, higher percentage will produce brighter, longer glow.
- Use a white or light color as a background for best results. Any color other than white will diminish glow.
- Use the clearest vehicle possible. Any pigment in the vehicle will decrease the brightness and length of glow.
- The thicker (to a point) the layer of Glow Powder will produce longer and brighter luminosity.
- Try to prevent moisture in the manufacturing process.
- Do not use vehicle with high acidity.
- Do not grind the Glow Powder, it will destroy the crystal structure and therefore decrease luminosity.
- The larger the particles size of the Glow Powder the greater the glow.
- Ratio of Glow Powder to medium is from 10% to 50% by weight depending on application and manufacture process.
Two of the most frequently asked questions in regards to Glow Powderare: Whatcan I do with it? The problem is that you can do almost anything with it. You can mix it into a plethora of mediums such as wax, paint, caulking, ceramic glaze, plastics, glue etc. It has numerous industrial applications for safety and fun for home use in arts and crafts. It is the all purpose Glow Powder in its truest sense. Risk Reactor clients are using it in everything from candles, printing, shirts, and of course paint. If you would like more ideas contact the Risk Reactor and we can help you! How muchpowder does it take? This universal question has one answer. It is up to you.The amount of powder to medium will depend on how much glow desired, cost effectiveness, type of application method etc. TheBasic Guidelines dictate from 10% to 50% by weight. If you are producing alow cost item, then alower percentage would work best for you. If you are screen printing shirts and want to make only one pass, a higher percentage would work better. Please also consider the particle size of the powder andthe color of the surface to which the medium is going to be applied. Experimentation will be the best method of determining ratios ……..
III. Application Scope
It can be used in many transparent or translucent media, such as plastic,
paint, glaze, ink, glass, printing slurry etc. to produce luminous products.
With the good indicating and beautifying effect in darkness, it can be widely
used in emergency signs, passway signs, switches, enamel nameplate, road
signs, toys, handicraft, clock, meter panels ,textile, firemen's equipment,
military and camp instruments etc.
